Job Responsibilities:

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· All other duties as assigned by direct supervisor or management.

· Approach coaching from a strength-based perspective.

· Assist Content Area Specialists in creating training.

· Assist in classrooms when needed and follow classroom guidelines and rules regarding children.

· Assist in the recruitment of children and families to our HS/EHS/GSRP programs.

· Assist with Child Guidance process to determine who is responsible for support of specific children’s needs.

· Attend all required meetings (including monthly team meeting with Ed. Specialists.

· Build positive, collaborative, trusting relationships with coaches.

· Collaborate with staff to determine steps for achieving his/her goals and create a Support Plan.

· Complete classroom Environmental and Conscious Discipline checklists for each assigned classroom prior to children attending.

· Complete coaching forms in a timely fashion.

· Comply with Agency’s Mission and Culture Statements.

· Comply with program and Agency policies and procedures.

· Provide Center Manager with updates.

· Monitor on-going documentation, including assessment, on children’s progress

· Other duties as assigned by director supervisor or senior management.

· Responsible to keep assigned work area or classroom clean and assist in facility checks and miscellaneous housekeeping duties as assigned by direct supervisor.

· Sign coaching agreement with staff.

· Utilize CLASS results, information from IPDPs, observations (including mental health and disabilities), and other data to guide best practices.

· Within first month of the school year, complete an initial classroom observation form.

· Within the first month, review staff needs assessment and initial observation to establish a coaching cycle.


Physical Requirements:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

· Hold a valid driver’s license and maintain a satisfactory driver’s record.

· Work is performed in a classroom setting and school environment where the noise level is moderate. The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit and talk, bend, stoop and kneel, see and hear, use hands and arms to lift up to 60 lbs. and walk around the classroom, outdoor play area and school facilities.

Qualifications & Education:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION:

Education: Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field or related field as defined in the Michigan Licensing qualifications is required.

Experience: Minimum of one and three years in Early Head Start and/or Head Start programs is required.

PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCE AND JOB KNOWLEDGE:

· Must be reliable, trustworthy and have good attendance.

· Must demonstrate sound independent judgment and decision making skills.

· Must have the ability to create and maintain satisfactory working relationships with coworkers.

· Must have intermediate to advanced skills with the Internet, CLASS, Creative Curriculum, TSGold and ChildPlus.

· Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.

· Must be skilled in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Special Consideration
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Employees within this classification are required to show:
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and random screenings as needed.
• Criminal background investigation every two years.
• Pass a physical examination upon hire.
• Tuberculosis (TB) test with negative results every three years.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification.
